Yes. A jeweller will be able to tell the difference between a naturally extracted Black Diamond and a lab-grown Black Diamond with the help of their professional instruments and experience. However, with the naked eye, it would be difficult to tell the difference.

One can also try and do a first-hand test of the stone on their own if they want to check whether the stone is lab-grown or naturally extracted. The following are how one can do a first-hand analysis:-

1. Water Drop Test- Drop the black diamond in a glass of water, if the black diamond sinks then it's a real diamond whereas if it floats then it's a fake diamond. Real diamonds tend to sink as they have high density.

2. Fog Test- Hold the black diamond or the black diamond jewellery in your hand and then breathe on it. If the diamond is real then the fog will disappear immediately, but if it's fake then the fog will take a few seconds to disappear.
